Tell me, please! Is there anyone who could possibly help me come up with the words that would adequately articulate the gratitude of my heart for the miracles we have seen recently in our church.
This last week we signed the contract to buy the land next to the church. Then, we immediately handed Mr. Rosenswig a check for the entire amount! Praise God from Whom all blessings flow!
IT IS THE FULFILLMENT OF A DREAM THAT WAS LAUNCHED MANY YEARS AGO!
I’ve been in the ministry for more than 43 years and I can honestly say that I have never witnessed anything like this. It is MIRACULOUS!
I sincerely believe that the LORD has revealed to me the reason we are experiencing such a move of His Spirit in our church:
IT’S BECAUSE OF EXTRAVAGANT GIVING! Although we have always been a very generous church, we hadn’t ever really tapped into the rewards of extravagant giving until 2 years ago when Jessica Tomlinson-Maher came to our church to share her dream of building an orphanage in Rwanda. On that Sunday morning, almost 2 years ago, we made the decision to help Jessica fulfill her dream. YOU GAVE THE AMOUNT NECESSARY TO FINISH THE ORPHANAGE!
Because we sowed into the lives of children whom we will never see, who live in a land we most likely will never visit, the LORD has therefore sown into our ministry through a church in Loveland, Colorado. (Resurrection Fellowship – www.rez.org) Honestly, the series of events leading up to that moment in Loveland is nothing short of miraculous!
Since the beginning , 32 years ago, I have dreamt of one day having a sanctuary where nothing but worship, prayer, praise, and the preaching and teaching of God’s Word takes place. As years passed, it seemed only a dream.
How could such a BIG dream possibly come to pass in such a small, seemingly insignificant place? Hope began to fade and, as God’s Word teaches; “Hope deferred makes the heart-sick, but a dream fulfilled is a tree of life.” – Proverbs 13″12 (NLT)
I can certainly give testimony to the truth of the above scripture verse. I had almost given up hope of ever seeing “The Dream” come to pass. I looked at circumstances, which certainly didn’t favor us, and let those circumstances control the vision. Hope deferred…Then, suddenly, the Spirit of extravagant giving came upon our fellowship and the harvest is coming in! Yes, in may cases the LORD is using friends outside our fellowship to sow into our ministry. That’s amazing to me, and very humbling. My heart is filled with gratitude!
The Boulder Examiner or Boulder, Colorado, published an article describing the miracle at Resurrection Fellowship. Charisma Magazine, the largest Christian magazine in the nation took that same article and published it in their magazine. Freelance reporter, Steve Rees, who wrote the article, has sent it to major news outlets in our nation, including Trinity Broadcasting Network. WOW! The LORD be praised and honored! Please understand. I don’t know what will take place because of all this, but it doesn’t matter. What the LORD has revealed to me through all that has happened and is happening, is that;
HE HAS OUR BACK! HE WILL SEE TO IT THAT THE VISION HE GAVE TO ME ALL THOSE YEARS AGO FOR THIS FELLOWSHIP OF BELIEVERS, IS COMING TO PASS…SOON!
“Why us?” you might be asking. Why not us? We need to realize that God is not restrained by size or numbers. In 1 Samuel, we read the words Jonathan spoke to his armor bearer when faced with a seemingly unbeatable enemy with overwhelming numbers. He said, in 1 Samuel 14:6:
“Come and let us cross over to the garrison of these uncircumcised; perhaps the Lord will work for us, for the Lord is not restrained to save by many or by few.”
Look at the words of King Hezekiah when facing the king of Assyria and his amazingly huge and well-trained army;
“Be strong and courageous! Don’t be afraid or discouraged because of the king of Assyria or his mighty army, for there is a power far greater on our side! He may have a great army, but they are merely men. We have the Lord our God to help us and to fight our battles for us!” – 2 Chronicles 32:7-8 (NLT)
Yes, I hear the enemy screaming in my ear, telling me that this is impossible… “Who do you think you are, and what could you have possibly done to deserve such favor?”
My answer is… NOTHING! Without Him I am nothing, and His favor is totally undeserved. However, we have been faithful to pray and persevere, and , we have been diligent to love people. Then, we slopped a lavish amount of icing on the cake; EXTRAVAGANT GIVING! Nuff said. – Pastor Don
